Sketch: Texture
Texture is an element of art. There are two different types of texture; tactile and implied.
In your sketchbook, label in the top right corner sk# _ and title it "Texture".
You will make six circles roughly the size of a silver dollar. You need to create a different texture for each one. You do not need to label them because I should be able to tell what they are. Make sure you ask a classmate to see if they can identify the texture. If they can't, then neither will I. Ask them for suggestions to better it. Example of texture: smoothed furry sharp jagged slimy soft hard sticky rough slippery What else can you think of? |
Next: Texture Hand
Now, let's apply the textures you've created or new ones to a drawing.
First: trace your hand
Second: For each finger, apply a different texture.
Refer to the example.
